Is the United States on the brink of disaster and about to fall over the edge of the precipice? That is the question that many of the LORD's people are feeling in their spirit.
While reading the Book of Jonah, I, too, felt a stirring in my spirit at the comparisons between Nineveh and the U.S. Both nations embraced wicked and evil ways. Both nations faced the possibility of being destroyed by invasion. Both nations had prophetic warnings to cease their evil ways, lest judgment comes and destroys them. However, that is where the comparison ends.
Nineveh heard from Jonah, a prophet, that judgment was about to fall on them in 40 days, if they did not repent. This wicked land, received Jonah's warning and repented through fasting and prayer. Not only that, the King of Nineveh, AFTER the people started repenting, called a PROCLAMATION for fasting, for approximately 3 days. This proclamation called on the ENTIRE nation to NOT EAT OR DRINK, including their animals! That is one SERIOUS fast!
What was the outcome??? Well, you can read what Jonah 3:10 says:
" When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened. "
There is a principle here that should be noted: the people of Nineveh prayed and fasted FIRST......THEN the KING followed, and made a declaration of repentance and fasting. This is a pattern that should be used today: people praying that their leaders would repent PUBLICLY and lead the country back to GOD through prayer and fasting! Unfortunately, we have not seen this REPENTANCE in our country.....there has been no PUBLIC proclamation of repentance to turn back to GOD by our leaders, government or White House. Instead it has been about...............
"Make American Great Again," instead of "Repent, Humble Yourself and Pray!'
Like Nineveh, American is facing a 'death sentence,' as we hear many modern day prophets and watchmen proclaiming that the 'handwriting is on the wall' for judgment! Our country is facing the PERFECT STORM of wars, invasion, diseases, weather disturbances, civil unrest. financial collapse .... and much more! Is the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY about to to lift HIS hand of protection off of this once mighty land? Sadly, the answer it yes!
Is America, IS ON THE EDGE OF THE PRECIPICE and WE ARE ABOUT TO FALL! How quickly we have turned from 'America, land of the brave,' to 'America land of the wicked.' The abortion issue has now reached new heights, as the murder of full- term babies is now not only accepted, and celebrated, but has become the law in New York State..... and SOON in other states as well!
Like never before, American, the once 'home of the free,' is now in serious trouble, as we allow the evil intent of a few become the law of the land. The 'spirit of hatred' and 'the spirit of murder' is now oozing out of the mouths of thousands, if not millions. Where will it end if we do not cry out to our heavenly FATHER in repentance on bended knee?
Where is the church in all of this? Where are the strong Christian leaders that can proclaim the difference between right and wrong,? Where is the church's backbone? It has become a church of cowards and compromise. She has lost her saltiness, and is no longer an agent of morality, reason, change, or even a spiritual voice in society. Instead she has become lukewarm, ineffective, weak and uninvolved. Those leaders who do nothing, and those who follow them, will reap what they have sowed. They will be trampled upon as salt that has lost its saltiness.
'You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.' Matthew 5:13
What will it take for HIS church to take a stand for righteousness? Seriously, I ask you......what will it take? How close does it have to get to our doorstep before we do or say something? I know one thing, once it gets to our house personally, it will then be too late to do anything....your voice will not be heard, as your rights will have been completely stripped away. Get ready for this, IF you do nothing!
IS IT TOO LATE? Well, it is definitely too late for the mega churches, their fancy sermons, their church programs or activities to make any differences ..... those days are COMPLETELY OVER in terms of their effectiveness and value.
So, you ask, 'what can I do personally?'
Well, there is only ONE thing left to do:
FAST and PRAY!
THESE ARE THE ONLY TWO EFFECTIVE METHODS LEFT TO TURN THINGS AROUND!!!
I AM DECLARING A FAST for all those who feel the same urgency in their spirit that I do.
The LORD has laid it upon my spirit to CALL FOR A FAST and to STAND IN THE GAP!
“So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. Ezekiel 22:30
FAST for your country, your leaders, your president, your community, your schools, your church, your family!
IF you wait......it will be too late!!! Our country will go into complete captivity!!! It is almost there now!!
WAKE UP, Children of GOD! It is time to put on your armor and fight in the SPIRIT!!!

Fasting is the one way that HIS people can humble themselves before the ALMIGHTY GOD. We, as believers in JESUS CHRIST, are given the task to continue praying, not only for ourselves and loved ones, but for our government and leaders.
