Elizabeth, I too have had experiences in the last 30 days with hawks. Only two that I am aware of. The first was about 3 wks ago while riding on our back roads with my dog. I looked over to my right and saw a hawk just sitting in a tree about 7ft high. I stopped the car and got out w/o dog to get a better look. I stood about 7ft away from him. He just kept looking at me. I said, Well, hello, what are you doing big guy? He remained put. Then, I told him bye and left. He remained, unconcerned. The 2nd event was yesterday, Dec. 27, 2020. This was at home, looking out my kitchen window. We have 4 ravens who regularly come for songbird seed mix and bread pieces. They had eaten and then left. Within 5 minutes, a large hawk swept across our yard and circled around. Then, he landed in the middle of the yard and stood and looked towards the house. They do not normally land in our yard. He surprised me with his visit. Then, he walks over to where the ravens eat and checks out the bread. HE grabs a piece and it looks like he bites through it allowing parts to fall to the ground. Not too sure he likes it or is not impressed with the bread. But he does this same action 5 times. Never tried the seed though. Walks around for about 30 seconds and then flies off. Unusual for us. Would have taken a picture but the screen interferes with picture quality. Thank you for your prophetic video and message on hawks. I am glad no one was hurt and no car damage.
