I remember that day very clearly, as all of us probably do! I remember being glued to the TV and being scared. I lived only 30 minutes from the heart of WASHINGTON, D.C., and was worried that we were going to be attacked! However, the LORD gave much wisdom to my husband concerning what had happened, which made me breath a little easier! In stressful situations, he tends to be more level-headed than me! haha!
I believe that everything in American changed that day! It was the beginning of the birth-pangs......the first 'shaking' of this nation!
Life has definitely changed since -- we have lost so many rights in the name of security, peace and safety.
Today is also very significant considering that it is also Rosh Hashana, and even possibly the actual birth-date of JESUS!
Please share your thoughts and memories of this day ..... 9/11
Yes, I remember that day very well and it's hard to believe that 17 years have passed. I agree with you, we have lost so many of our freedoms in the name of security and protection. There is only one true safety and protection and that is in the arms of our Lord and Savior!
I was working that day and we had co-workers all over the nation traveling. We had people coming into our corporate offices from several other states, others traveling to those satellite locations for different reasons and then our executive team in a completely different state at a conference. We were glued to the TV watching in horror and then trying to help our co-workers find rides from the Houston airport that had just shut down and others searching for rental cars to travel from one state to the other and then trying to find where others were since cell phone service was limited. It seemed to draw us all closer together as a nation and people. A lot has changed since then.
