Hi Deb. I'm so glad you found our info helpful. I've said all along that if I had to do all that research I'd go completely insane, but Hank loves doing it. He's been at it since we felt the call to do this seven years ago. I read your post to him and it really encouraged him. I think you're right...so many people are just going through all kinds of stuff. I'm trying to look at it as a kind of boot camp to train us for all that's coming down the road later. At least that way I can see a purpose for it all. Hank has been in the hospital for almost 6 weeks and it's been rough at times but I've also seen many blessings in the midst of this and God's hand working through it all. Blessings, Jo Ann

Thank you for praying for us! We'll put you in our prayers also. I meant to get back to you earlier but it's been a crazy day here. My husband is in the hospital over an hour away. I didn't get home from there until almost 4:00 and now the fan on our furnace seems to be out. Thankfully it's not that cold out yet and the Lord is still in charge. I'm not sure what your plans are for a safe haven but we have a website with a page on it that contains all the research my husband has done over the years about gardening and raising livestock and a bunch of other stuff if you're interested. I'll try to get the link in this message but I'm technologically challenged so I never know if it's going to work or not. Hi Pavielle, my husband and I aren't in Kentucky, we're in Indiana but we're still looking for a property to buy. We've actually looked at several in Kentucky and also in West Virginia. We can't afford to buy right now but whenever the Lord provides the funds we're ready to go. It's late and I'm going to bed but I wanted to reply since we're just a state away. He hasn't really said. It almost seems as though it doesn't really matter as far as the Lord is concerned. Although he has warned us off of a couple of properties that we liked. We really like West Virginia but we've also looked for property in Kentucky and Tennessee. My husband doesn't want to get too far south on account of the heat. And you're right, the Lord is faithful. My husband has been in the hospital for 5 weeks. He nearly died at the beginning of August but the Lord pulled him back from that and even though there's a long healing road ahead we know that he is right here with us.He's still here for a reason. God's not done with him yet!

We have been shown that we are to relocate and build a safe haven from the ground up. We're looking at the appalachian mountains, but until the Lord provides the funds we're not going anywhere.We don't have the funds to do this on our own. We've been prepping for years and now it seems that the Lord is prepping us. We've had lots of trials lately but I don't want to go into this unprepared spiritually and mentally, so I've been trying to cooperate and learn what I need to from all of this.

We have Nigerian Dwarfs. We aren't milking yet mostly because I don't have the time and my husband is disabled and in a wheel chair. Later after our safe haven is up and going, then I'll be milking. Right now we're still waiting on funding from the Lord.

My husband and I have a small garden. Most of the space we have is taken up with our dairy goats, but we have potatoes, tomatoes, pumpkins and a couple of other things. One of the good things about the goats is that we have all the free organic fertilizer that we need. We've been experimenting with growing things in unconventional ways. I've gardened most of my life but always in a conventional way. I'm going to check out the book you recommended. Thanks for creating this forum. This is great!
