During the last 6 weeks or so I have also been listening to the messages and debates about the three days of darkness. On a very personal level I felt like the Lord wanted me to take it seriously and prepare for it. As a Bible teacher I have been familiar with the scriptures that talk about this prophetic event that is coming in the future, but I never read that it was supposed to last 3 days? Here are three of those scriptures:

Matthew 24:29 - “Immediately after the distress of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven".

Revelation 6:12 - I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake.The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair. (Soon after that, in Chapter 7, you have a multitude standing in white robes in front of the throne)

Joel 2:29 - Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

I was well aware that this darkened sun would come soon before the day of the Lord, but I always thought this was going to be a solar eclipse! Yet again, the Bible does not say it will last as long as a solar eclipse, and coming to think of it, would another solar eclipse actually make a difference in people's behavior - considering this is the last one before the day of the Lord? Now that I think about it I realize that this solar eclipse was nothing else but my personal assumption.

If this event lasts 10 minutes the scriptures would be fulfilled. But if this even lasts 3 days, all these same scriptures would be fulfilled just as much since none of them have a time frame!

I proceeded to tell my brothers and sisters in Christ about these 3 days of darkness. During my bible study on this topic I felt on the spot I should look up Isaiah 13:10. I interrupted the bible study and looked up this scripture. It says:

"The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins".

Wow. Thank you Lord. I had no idea that the darkened sun was also in the book of Isaiah, but I took that as a confirmation that this will truly happen since that was the topic of the study.

I encourage everyone to seek your own personal confirmations and instructions from the Lord. Personally, I believe now that these scriptures could mean that there will be a repetition of the plague of darkness just as it happened in the days of Moses - which coincidentally was the last plague before the passover event and their miraculous delivery from slavery at the hands of Pharao. God already did this before, and he tends to do things again as many facets of his creation have a cyclical pattern:

The Plague of Darkness

Exodus 10:21 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that darkness spreads over Egypt—darkness that can be felt.” 22 So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total darkness covered all Egypt for three days. 23 No one could see anyone else or move about for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.

Isn't this what the Lord is saying? That He will visit his own during these three days of darkness and He is the Light of the World! Is anything too hard for him? The greater the darkness, the brighter His light will shine - and His remnant will walk out of those 3 days of darkness shining like beacons. This can trigger a last days revival. So I am proceeding to take the preparations for this seriously.
