  The LORD has laid it on my heart in the last few weeks to study stronghold     blockages in our lives.

 

  What is a stronghold? In one sense, it is a mind-set that exalts itself above the   knowledge of GOD.

 

  In 2 Corinthians 10:5 it says:

 

"We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

 

  Another 'stronghold' is where the satan, our only foe, comes into our lives and

tries  to hold us captives in many areas. These areas can be mental, spiritual or physical. They can become like stubborn 'little pests' that can grow and become immovable mountains. These 'stubborn' situations are not so innocent as they

can sometime seem initially. If not treated quickly, they can grow into a true

stronghold in your life. They can range from bad habits, or sins that we just can't break, or

they can be blockages in our finances, relationships, health or even our spiritual walk with the LORD.

 

  The best way to know if there are 'strongholds' in our lives, is through asking the HOLY SPIRIT to reveal this to you. HE can show you if there is a continual 'theme' that is not right and will not go away. Sometimes you can find yourself feeling like you are in captivity in that particular situation or problem that is continually plaguing you.

 

  These strongholds can be seen as spiritual roadblocks. Since they are spiritual in nature, therefore they need to be addressed in the SPIRIT with spiritual warfare.

 

  "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds". 2 Corinthians 10:4

 

  However, first we must understand what JESUS said about the 'strong man' in the Bible:

 

  “Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. Matthew 12:29

 

  In this verse there is a principle of 'binding the strong man' and plundering his goods. Satan is the 'strong man' and Jesus is the one who comes and ties up Satan

and his plunders. We have allowed, unintentionally, these stronghold blockages to

be set up in our lives through 'open doors' of sin, strong emotions, trauma, false doctrines and ungodly practices (yoga, witchcraft, the occult, etc.).

 

  JESUS will come and deliver us from this strong man that wants to take over, but

we must appropriate HIS ways into our lives for HIM to do so.

 

  PRAISE BE TO GOD that HE has provided for us a way of escape! HE has given us

the weapons of warfare needed to break the strongholds that come to hold us captive.

 

  The two main principles that can do this that the LORD has shown me is:

 

  1) applying the BLOOD OF JESUS by confessing its power over you for deliverance (Hebrews 2:14-15), protection (Exodus 12:12-13), healing (Isaiah 53:5) and peace (Colossians 1:20)

 

  2) claiming Matthew 18:18 and loose (release) yourself from every stronghold blockage in your life:

 

  “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven,

and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Matthew 18:18

 

 

  STRONGHOLD PRAYER:

 

  Here is a sample prayer that you can use or add to. Use your spiritual warfare

daily or as needed. Remember, before using this prayer:

 

  1) confess your sins (and the corresponding sin for the stronghold)

  2) forgive those who need to be forgiven

  3) plead the BLOOD OF JESUS over yourself.

 

 

  In the mighty NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, I claim the BLOOD OF JESUS

over me. I now command and loose myself from all stronghold blockages of ______________(put in the ones that is bothering you) and I tell them to flee permanently.

 

  I rebuke, resist, smash, loose, destroy and cut off all stronghold blockages that are over my life, my endeavors, my plans, my provision, my health, my ministry and

my day.

 

  I ask and call upon the FATHER, LORD JESUS and the HOLY SPIRIT to please send HOLY angels to come now and protect my day, my life, my plans, my health, my provision. I ask that these angels would stand guard over them and stop all intruders, evil sources and demons to interfere with them in any way.

 

  I stand on the WORD of GOD that says JESUS has set me Free and I am now free indeed. Thank you FATHER, LORD JESUS, HOLY SPIRIT for removing all the works

of the enemy and shining the LIGHT OF CHRIST into my life.
