In 2014, with the encouragement of my counselor, my bible study leader and a few Godly friends, I separated from my wife of 13 years, who was oppressed by both a Jezebel spirit and an Adulterous spirit, and she refused to admit any fault. A week after I left she filed for divorce, but I could not afford a lawyer. The judge entered a temporary order for me to pay $1000/ mo. spousal/child support.
In 2016, now also recovering from a 4 month unemployment and with the divorce still unresolved, I was summoned to court because I was $6k behind in support. The judge appointed a temporary lawyer for me, since I could go to jail for up to 6 months. Court would reconvene in 2 weeks.
I had fasted and prayed fervently the night before, and my best friend drove me to the county courthouse in case I had to be taken into custody. My counselor from my church also showed up or moral support, which surprised me.
My temporary lawyer and the opposing lawyer went to the 830am hearing to determine which judge and room we were to go to for the actual hearing. This was a Tuesday, not a Monday, so we were very surprised to find out that there were not enough judges that day to hold court, and all parties would have to seek to reschedule or resolve their differences. This is a big county of almost 2 million people!
I handed the opposing lawyer $700 of the needed $6k and asked, since I was already having $1k per month deducted from my pay, if she would stop the action. She agreed. Hallelujah! There never were any threats of jail.
Praise God! Thank you Jesus!
