I forget most dreams but remember this one. At first it seemed that I was in my parents bedroom abroad, the home I left 40 years ago when I moved to the UK. It was as if I was celebrating something, I’m not sure what, as I was dressed up and through the window a few family and friends handed me red and silver flowers and gifts. The scene changed where, in the same celebration outfit Guests and I were at a restaurant around a table. After a while my guests and I changed tables and the dream ended. I’m puzzled by this dream. Can someone kindly interpret?

Some thoughts:
It seems like you were at a loss for why people were honoring you.
As though you were just doing what needed to be done, and they were pumping it up.
Compare when someone writes a book in privacy, then suddenly it is out in worldwide view. The product wasn't any better after it hit the market, than at the composing desk.
Silver is precious, but takes a little work to prevent tarnishing.
A recipient might prefer live flowers, instead of the formal fuss and rigidity of metal. But its value holds universal permanence.
Red is often an alert, like stop lights. Some people feel invigorated by red, feeling more alive and ready. Red can also be regal, traditional, wealthy, in-charge. Bullfighting.
There might have been a "this is me/this is not me" thought process.
Restaurant -- a place where people make choices, consume, get together in public. Your group even chose to shift tables.
Your parents' home -- where you originally felt "yourself." But in their room, not yours.
I'm not pulling this all together for a conclusion; but think it might involve healing how you'd been percieved by people. You had a lot of unexpected recognition to handle at once.
