I felt led to share this dream.
It was one scene. I could see a trash dump, but instead of normal trash, it was just clothes. I got the feeling it was all the clothes in the world, including all I had and all other people had. People were gone and it was like a post apocalyptic scene.
Message: The clothes you have or could have aren't worth idolizing as they will end up destroyed along with everything else. Extra clothing you buy at this time could very well be a waste of money and should go towards more useful items.
If you struggle with idolizing clothes, read on. I used to think that because something is put in the monthly budget, then it's okay to buy and doesn't mean it's a big deal. But putting money aside for something that's unnecessary puts it closer to idol territory, closer than we like to think. I'm not saying if you gain or lose weight that you shouldn't have nice things to wear. Of course, you need something that fits, including for nice occasions. But to feel like you need a bursting wardrobe, looking at fashion magazines wanting more items every month, and looking in the mirror feeling inadequate about yourself, well, that's not a good start for the day if we want to have freedom in Christ. That's what my username refers to, freedom in Christ.
For my own journey, I was losing weight til the quarantine in Austria took effect. Then I gained a little, and now I'm eating normally again. And I have decided to just be okay with how I look, not worry about those extra pounds, and wear items that flatter my body and hide the trouble areas. If I am to focus on Christ and have a sound mind, I don't have time to waste worrying about how good or bad I look, or how good I COULD look. Paul clearly states beauty from the inside is of more worth than the outside. And if you look at the original meaning of the Proverbs 31 woman, if you add the word "spiritual" to the right places, the whole passage takes on a whole different meaning. Example: She gets up early to get "spiritual" food for her family.
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
the vision you had was about getting rid of filthy garments because they are unclean and putting on the righteous garments of the KING of KINGS!!
"You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy." Revelation 3:4
