IRL I ran across an amazing model to ensure community members are taken care of. Prevents food insecurity.
A country store in VT became a community center with pay-what-you-can market, restaurant, thrift store, concerts. Run by volunteers; since everyone can use it, residents are happy to be involved.
Restaurant uses local pasture-raised, organic vegetables and cheeses, homemade breads.
Licensed kitchen allows makers to test recipes, families to produce bulk quantities for events.
Innovators test-market products at the store.
Some churches already operate similar to this model, but most seem to have drifted from it.
