1) sacrament meeting with Obama
At stake conference (in a large stake conference building I felt i have had dreams about before), it was my job to prepare for it to happen (which has actually been the topic of dreams before). Like in other dreams, we were behind schedule. There were a list of tasks that had to be done in order and setting up chairs was the last task - it was my job to set up chairs but I had to wait first for others to finnish their jobs - which resulted in me starting setting up chairs as it was starting - i was behind. Obama was there and setting up chairs too, but he had the wrong chairs. Me and others told him they were wrong, so he stopped, but then he told me I had to store the chairs he had set up in a special way - they had to be covered and in containers. I got the impression he was being malicious here, as if he was making my job harder for no reason, so I ignored his advice and put the chairs in the normal places against walls.
Interpretation:
* I was working with a group of people to prepare for an important event (the second coming??)
* Obama - represents people who have the facade of virtue and are "helping", but actually aren't.
* His mishap seemed accidental, but of course it wasn't - there was something special about those chairs - they weren't just ordinary chairs because they had to be stored with such great care. Thus we see that "random mishaps" aren't so random - they have a purpose though we don't know what they are.
* He was only able to wreak mischief because we had been irresponsible and hadn't been prepared in time for the meeting.
2) the lesson
After stake conference (which occurs in my denomination when a whole bunch of congregations combine together in a huge meeting twice a year) I was assigned to teach children about the Gospel. I played them a video of a video game. I think the game involved some sort of hide and seek across a map. I used a pencil to write on the screen on a specific point where the player was supposed to go to find his target and asked the kids if they could see that point. They couldn't - it was basically the size of a single pixel. Then somehow I expanded the point until it almost covered the screen. I asked the kids again if they could see point and they could of course. Then I explained to them that this was how the holy ghost worked. It always shows us where we should be going, but if we don't make the holy ghost a significant part of our life, we won't be able to see it. As the holy ghost becomes a bigger part of our life - it covers more and more of the screen - it becomes more visible. Or, you literally won't be able to see its guidance for you unless you make Christ a big part of your life.
3) thanksgiving
I was having thanksgiving with a group of my relatives the Frandsens. Here is context about these relatives: They can be described as "fancy" - four of them have Phds - but none of them are particularly rich. They like talking about "fancy" topics such as entropy, though I get the impression they don't really understand what they are talking about - they just enjoy feeling like they are engaged in intellectual conversations. They only support ideas held by the highest institutions. So as an "edge thinker" it is often frustrating to talk to them, because they do talk about intellectual things that touch on my interests, but if I add any ideas they don't listen to me because my ideas aren't supported by higher institutions. Anyway, I was having thanksgiving with them and i felt like they weren't listening to me, so i switched to having thanksgiving with some people I barely knew. They had a lot more money than the Frandsens and had rented this cluster of cabins to have a family gathering at. They were all engaged in partying and games the whole time - and I quickly lost interest as well. I didn't want to play games. So I went to a prison finally, where I pretended to be a prisoner. There I finally was able to have conversations with like minded individuals about things I thought were important. Eventually I left the prison and I thought the other prisoner (I was only talking to one person) would be surprised that I could just leave, but he also could just left with me as well - he wasn't really a prisoner.
Interpretation:
I guess this dream represents a descent throughout our society - there are intellectuals who engage in supposedly "deep" conversations, but actually all they are doing is parroting things others have said, and they all turn on you in unison if you propose unique ideas. Then there are the rich who are not better - all they are engaged in is revelry and games (Golfing famously in the USA). It turns out that only the lowest of the low - the prisoners - were actually open minded and serious about the world. When I talked to them I realized that they weren't even prisoners - they wanted to be there, just like me. They wanted to be with lowly people, because only those type of people are trying to get closer to Christ.
------ Discourse on Modern Day Revelation ------
Obviously this dream could just be a product of my unconsciousness. Nevertheless, it does have clear spiritual lessons that we can learn from, so I thought I might as well throw it out there. I definitely have been observing false prophets online, so I'd like to propose a few indicators that someone is "false", and my thoughts on finding the truth.
1) If none of their messages actually encourage people to improve themselves and follow christ - all they are doing is prophesying of the future - that is a sign they are false. It is my belief that Satan doesn't regularly have his followers encourage people to self improve and follow christ, but that Christ does this frequently.
2) With a few exceptions, most of God's prophecies are conditional - this will happen IF his people repent or don't repent. Saying something is cemented in stone breaks this pattern. There definitely are exceptions, and sometimes the people have already repented or are just definitely not going to repent, in which case this pattern would be void.
3) Trump is (probably) not a savior figure. FYI I actually like trump. But prophecies about Trump saving everything seem unrealistic because trump (mostly) proposes physical solutions to our problems. America doesn't need a "Great" leader, it needs to turn to god - everyone in America needs to, not just Trump. Why will God help us uncover secret combinations when we have secret rebellions in our own hearts that we haven't fixed. Could Trump be a false messianic figure? I like him, but yes, i think he is for some people. I could be wrong about this, but prophets who just constantly talk about how Trump is going to fix everything imminently seem a little bit fishy to me.
4) One should be skeptical of Prophets who claim to be the #1 voice of God on earth. Actually, there are a whole bunch of people receiving dreams and visions right now (though from my research Elizabeth Marie seems to be the most prominent modern prophet who is not false).
5) The beliefs reflected on this website are in PERFECT ALIGNMENT WITH THE BOOK OF MORMON, and MUCH MORE SO THAN THE BIBLE (though the bible is still way more important and the book of Mormon only tangential). Believing in the Book of Mormon is separate from believing in the Mormon Church (the church has problems). The book of Mormon teaches that revelation continues past the bible into the modern day, and it warns about secret combinations to a huge degree. If you read the book of Mormon and pray about it, you will feel the holy ghost testify to you that it is true (or you could believe the 11 witnesses of the book who all left the "Mormon church" but never denied that the actual Book of Mormon was true). Here is an example scripture found within it that discusses how in the modern day - literally right now - there will be terrible secret combinations (and other things). However, whether you believe in the book of Mormon or not actually doesn't matter, because if you are on this website, you already agree with everything the book of Mormon says - so you don't "need" the book of Mormon as much as you do actual modern revelation.
Mormon 8:
27 And it shall come in a day [meaning the book of Mormon being discovered/translated] when the blood of saints shall cry unto the Lord, because of secret combinations and the works of darkness.
28 Yea, it shall come in a day when the power of God shall be denied, and churches become defiled and be lifted up in the pride of their hearts; yea, even in a day when leaders of churches and teachers shall rise in the pride of their hearts, even to the envying of them who belong to their churches.
31 Yea, it shall come in a day when there shall be great pollutions upon the face of the earth; there shall be murders, and robbing, and lying, and deceivings, and whoredoms, and all manner of abominations; when there shall be many who will say, Do this, or do that, and it mattereth not, for the Lord will uphold such at the last day. But wo unto such, for they are in the gall of bitterness and in the bonds of iniquity.
33 O ye wicked and perverse and stiffnecked people, why have ye built up churches unto yourselves to get gain?
40 Yea, why do ye build up your secret abominations to get gain, and cause that widows should mourn before the Lord, and also orphans to mourn before the Lord, and also the blood of their fathers and their husbands to cry unto the Lord from the ground, for vengeance upon your heads?
41 Behold, the sword of vengeance hangeth over you; and the time soon cometh that he avengeth the blood of the saints upon you, for he will not suffer their cries any longer.
5) Finally: everything I say you should be skeptical of lol. Don't take my word for it, only agree if the holy ghost testifies to you that it is right.
Neat insights.
And true to my nature, I will eelaaaaborate. (-;
PARROTING
Much of education is parroting: The teacher researches and organizes information, then feeds it to the students in manageable amounts. Teachers decide what needs to be learned (or come under standards), limiting vast possibilities, because time is short. Then the way to measure whether students did work, is to ask them to repeat back what they learned, or do a project applying that knowledge.
The people who get the best grades, were best at parroting. The people with degrees, parroted well. The higher degrees, they researched and tested information, but as you say, only could include what was considered credible sources.
Centuries ago, colleges were more open to new thought. With fewer libraries and no internet, information was more rare and precious.
Now education is challenged with students getting info off their phones, turning in projects they grabbed from the internet, and using AI to write papers, grammar software to check wording.
Sadly, teachers spend too much time now checking plagiarism, when they could have focused on
I enjoyed that dream, bc I rarely befriend people in my own field. I want to learn new things adjacent to what I know, not debate and feel scummy after. I like to mix up my friends, find people with good intents.
It sounded so much like an extended family dinner. ^_^
I wonder if it came up, bc US candidates are discussing reducing the staff of D of Education... which would put more into hands of states.

ABOUT PROPHETIC
1 -- Yes! And I'd imagine God looks at what we do with the info-- whether we pray to prevent danger, care about others.
2. Several years ago, God showed me how varied outcomes can be trajectories we might take. God all-knowing, can think faster than computers, and can foresee all the possibilities that human choices will result in, years ahead.
With that, a prediction is not necessarily His will, but what He foresees we're headed toward. As you say, repentance makes a difference. Prayer, choices, conversations make a difference.
3. Fishy, for sure. Especially since he picked wealthy televangelists to advise him last administration. I respect what he knows, how he respects others' expertise, how he goes about managing massive organizations, and still keeps his cool. He connects well with people. But he's not much younger than the guy US just declared too old.
The bigger picture -- both main candidates are divisive. Many Dems swore they'd leave the country if T led again. Imagine the hatred that will hit its peak, if he wins. We're already worn out from years of hearing it.
Recently saw evidence that news media pumped up the division bc it sold papers. Always suspected that, but hadn't seen it spelled out.
4. I have a feeling that many people involved in prophetic now, never grew up with core Christian principles of laying down life, making love our greatest aim, etc.
If they grew up in signs-and-wonders churches, their goals would be to keep delivering "Words" well, and that can overlap fortune-telling. Some rely on their sites/channels for income, so they'd feel obligated to deliver insight regularly. Not necessarily corrupt, but showing lack of Bible reading.
