I had a dream/vision about four years ago. I was living in a 6x8 shed at the time going to school and rebuilding my life and my christian walk…
A man in my dream started to walk up to me from afar. He had the biggest smile on his face. As he came closer I noticed the most loving eyes I had ever encountered…They seemed to bulge out from the bottom to expose more eye and emotion. More radiating love became visible from his eyes. His nose was straight and long. The bridge was deep. He wore a light colored gown. He was so joyous to see me, as if I were a gift to him… I never experienced this before. He came right up to me and gave me a kiss on my left cheek and gave me the BIGGEST, STRONGEST hug that I have ever received…I could never break free if I wanted to. I seemed to have still been sitting on my bed, so I was rapped tight around his chest.
That night I had been in particular emotional pain about my break up with my wife (many years separated). I could see her kneeling in prayer-in the spirit-off to my right. I tried turning my head to the right, but he gripped me tighter which made it harder to turn my head. Since he rapped himself around me in a hug, I decided to hug him with my left arm which was off to my side. My left arm went around his back. I can't describe the Strength that I felt from his muscles!! They felt like steel…He was the strongest man I had ever felt. He never spoke a word to me.
I wondered for three days what his love represented to me. It wasn't the love of a father, that felt culturally too different from me. It wasn't the love of just a friend, he felt like family. It wasn't the love of an uncle, it felt more personal. It was the love of a brother… he felt like an oldest brother! I felt like a baby brother that he met for the first time in person!!
He didn't look like the Jesus portrayed in may Jesus films as a white, manicured, clean cut, smooth faced American. My first impression was a jewish man, who looked like a man’s man… who was walking towards me.
My wife had recounted a dream that she had had a couple of months prior. She ended up deciphering that Jesus had kissed me on the cheek…
Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
Rom. 8:29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to be like his Son, so that his Son would be the first born among many brothers and sisters.
Luke 8:21 Jesus replied, “My mother and my brothers are all those who hear God’s word and obey it.”
John 10: 28-30 “No one can snatch them away from me, for my father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Fathers hand. The father and I are one.”
Romans 8:38-39 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Wow, I'm so happy you pointed me to your amazing dream. But are they really dreams when God impresses them into us... hmmm I think they're so much more. I'm so happy for you that you had this experience.
When reading, it reminded me of a time when I was laying in bed, I believe I was a wake laying in the dark. I felt the brush of a hand across my left cheek upward and over my hair. It was a loving touch, I believe it to be the Lord, you just know sometimes. I opened my eye, peeking to see if I could see Him, but no. And then the smell of sweet lemons filled my room. God knows how much I love lemons, I use to have a lemon tree outside my bedroom window as a kid. When the morning sun hit the dew on the leaves the scent would steam off and into my room. And here it was about 40 years after and this happened. I felt so beyond loved and couldn't stop sniffing lol. Holy is the Lord God Almighty!
