I dreamt that I was in a convenience store. I picked up a yellow pill from a counter and a cockroach was beside it. I know what you are thinking, probably you are saying, why did I even touch it! Well that was my question too. But this is a dream, and I was watching myself.

Anyway, when I was at the counter and gave the cashier (faceless cashier) what I was buying, she asked me, “Do you really want to buy this?” I looked at the item and I noticed that it’s a yellow octagon- shaped pill. So I asked the lady,” why, what is in it? She said, “Mangan”…then that was the end of my dream and I woke up.

When I was already wide awake, I prayed to the Lord to help me understand my dream. The Lord has spoken to me many times through my dreams. There were several of my dreams that have come true exactly how I have dreamt of them. Some were very symbolic that I had to do some research. This is one of those dreams. I believe that as I research on the meaning of this dream, the Holy Spirit will lead me to the correct interpretation. I search the scriptures if there are Bible texts that corresponds to the message. And tell people, who I shared my dreams with, to pray and test the spirit behind its message.

Anyway, going back to my dream; the following are the factors I looked at:

1. The yellow octagon shaped pill

2. the word MANGAN

3. Faceless cashier

4. cockroach

So I searched the internet and found an octagon yellow pill that looks so much like the one in my dream and this is what I have gathered so far:

1. Most octagon pills are analgesic for pain and can be addictive.

2. Yellow signifies the mind. And from my reference for color schemes in dreams interpretation, a negative meaning for yellow is fear, coward.

3. MANGAN in a Filipino dialect means, eat or let’s eat (Mangan ta).

However, based on the faceless lady (usually represents the Holy Spirit or an angel) in my dream, it seems like she wanted me to think through my decision to purchase the pill.

Mangan in Urban dictionary puts it as “ultimate defeat, getting victory snatched away at the last possible moment.

4. Faceless cashier- Holy Spirit or an angel

5. Roach- infestation, unclean spirit, hidden sin.

I believe this is a warning dream.

The Faceless cashier, the Holy Spirit is warning me If I were to buy that pill and take it, it will be addictive and become a stronghold for an unclean spirit to cause fear. Because Satan our adversary is doing all he can to snatch away our (the Church) victory at the last possible moment, he will do all he can to try to defeat us. The devil knows his end is near and what better way to snatch away our victory is to cause fear in our hearts so we will focus on the things we are afraid of rather than put our faith in God and exercise our authority as children of God.

The devil has spread so much lies that it’s difficult to discern who are speaking truth and deception (especially in the media) nowadays. We hear different stories and news about the pandemic, corona virus and how many lives it had already claimed. I have heard a lot of people saying they are so afraid of contracting this virus. And there are many too that are very worried about how we can get over all these and get back to “normalcy”.

I agree that we should do all precautions and follow guidelines for everybody’s safety and health, but we should not let fear rule in our hearts that can paralyze us and forget that we have the power of God within us. Fear not or Be not afraid was mentioned 103 times in the King James Bible that tells us how much God puts importance to this command. Do not let Satan “mangan” and deceive you into living a defeated kind of life.

The warning is do not feed our minds with fear and let our hearts be troubled which will open a portal for this stronghold. Do not feed into this fear and let Satan rob you of the joy of your victory. Our victory in Jesus is sure but the way is narrow. We as Christians can still be influenced if we let the devil scare us or divert our attention to the concerns of this life.

So how do we combat this? WE COMBAT THIS WITH THE TRUTH. JESUS IS THE TRUTH. Prophecies will be fulfilled. There will be more wars, earthquakes and pestilences. They are sure to come and to some degree are already happening in various places. There will be more frightful things that will happen. Men’s hearts will fail for fear for what is about to come (Luke 24: 26). But we should make ourselves ready for what is coming. Jesus is coming soon but these things will take place before His great comeback. We should take heart, prepare by reminding ourselves who we are and whose we are, putting on the armor of God, living a repentant life and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom.

Jesus has already defeated sin and death when He died on the cross for our sins (Hebrews 2:14). But He did not just die, He resurrected that proved HE IS GOD! His power is supreme! Satan cannot “mangan” us anymore, if we will not let him. He will try his very best, but we should resist the devil and he will flee from us.

As we celebrate the RESURRECTION SUNDAY, let me leave you with these words from our Lord Jesus Christ, “Fear not for I have overcome the world”; “Do not let your hearts be troubled, trust in God and trust also in ME….” “Fear not for I have known you by name, You are Mine.”

Happy Resurrection Sunday! Because He lives, we can face tomorrow!
