The way that you store treasure in Heaven is by putting Jesus first and following Him. We do this by loving Him more than anything else and anyone else. When we follow the leading of The Holy Spirit in obedience, then we are automatically storing up treasures in Heaven. Look at this verse. Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”If your heart desires are on the things of this world -wealth, family, comfort, your own self focused hopes and dreams then your treasures will be of this life/earth and they will eventually pass away and be burned up. But if your heart desire is for Christ and He is the love of your life, then you’re focus will be on the things that please Him, things that fulfill His goals. Like doing The Father’s will and agreeing with the agenda of The Kingdom of Heaven. These thoughts and actions of Faith store up treasures in Heaven, which are eternal treasures. Look what Jesus said to a man with many earthly possessions...Matthew 19:21-30 “Jesus told him, "If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." But when the young man heard this, he went away sad, for he had many possessions. Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is very hard for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. I'll say it again-it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!" The disciples were astounded. "Then who in the world can be saved?" they asked. Jesus looked at them intently and said, "Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible." Then Peter said to him, "We've given up everything to follow you. What will we get?" Jesus replied, "I assure you that when the world is made new and the Son of Man sits upon his glorious throne, you who have been my followers will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life. But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then.”So you see we must be willing to forsake all and follow Jesus. Giving up your way for His way is storing up treasures. Now Jesus doesn’t ask everyone to sell everything that they have. The point is that He wants your heart and obedience to God. He wants you to put Him above all in your heart and be willing to do that if He asks that of you. Apostle Paul said that He considered everything of His worldly accomplishments garbage compared to knowing Jesus. Philippians 3:8“Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ.”So I encourage you to learn to listen to The voice of God. We do this through coming to Him humbly with a childlike heart, spending quiet purposeful time seeking the Lord in prayer and reading His Word. Listen, be still and know He is God. Say “Lord, what do you want to tell me, teach me, ask of me, I’m listening.” Be predetermined in your mind that you will obey, no matter the task or sacrifice He asks of you. He will speak to your spirit. If you don’t hear anything at first, DO NOT give up! He wants you to keep seeking, knocking, asking. Be in hot pursuit of The heart of God. He wants you to want Him, because He wants you too. Test every prompting in your spirit with The Word of God. If it doesn’t line up in agreement, then the prompt was not from The Lord. Wait upon The Lord and trust Him with all of your heart. Then your will have treasures in Heaven. I hope this helps you. God bless you! Lord I pray that you reveal yourself to this lovely person in an amazing way and use them for your Kingdom. Your will be done! In Jesus mighty name! Amen!
