History had waves of political dominance by the Cthlc church, including Bible burnings and rewritings. RCC gets very involved in social services, global politics, training future politicians... and the masses listen to declarations on changes in doctrine.

Protestant leaders hold socio-political influence too, but seem more discreet about it.

A few years ago, Evangelical leaders tried to reconnect churches with the Vtcn. Who knows where the progress stands. It was a mutual agreement to work together, but did not represent all Protestant leaders or churches.

But also consider whether you had experiences with the denomination, or people who grew up in it. The dream shows clear misunderstanding, change in beliefs, and growing animosity. There have been times in history where differences caused fighting. (Ireland).

Persecution often comes from groups that are close in beliefs...trying to correct each other.
