There are certainly practical things we need to do sensibly-- knowing that struggles and violence are inevitable parts of life and death.
Jesus called us to lay down our lives for people, for justice and mercy, for letting them know His kingdom is at hand -- accessible to all. Christ died for all.
Troubles can bounce off us, become less important than the fate of people's spirits.
